In the factory

Hi all,

I took a day off from work today to check out the house in production. The Streif factory is in located in the Eifel region which borders with Belgium in the town of Weinsheim.

Even though it is unlikely they will actually deliver the house on the 6th of March, that was the original plan and the plan that is in use by the production personnel.

Here are some pieces of our house.

Some bits of the roof...

Here is the back of the house before putting the primer on the outside.

And the front of the house at the primer station.

And here are the two unfinished gables.

a little waiting

Well today was supposed to be the delivery of the cellar. It has been delayed (hopefully only a few days) due to the weather. The crew needed to pump out some water that had collected in the hole, then it was frozen etc. before then can prep the area for the installation. I guess I will just have to be patient, again.

Only a hole, oh yes, only a hole

Weather has been uncooperative and we still have only a hole.

Cellar

The cellar should start to be built next week and finish up the week after. We have applied to the authorities to block the street completely on the 13th for a rather large crane to drop in the larger bits of cellar since all of our neighbors have also built something already.
On another note, I hope to find out by tommorrow when our house is being built and delivered. We are hoping to visit the factory on one of the days it is being built.
